By now you may have heard about worse invocation given in recent years, right here in our own State of Pennsylvania. It was the given by first-year Representative Stephanie Borowicz (Lock Haven, PA), which amounted to Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus (13 times), followed by the entirely false claim that this nation was “ founded on your principles in your words and your truth.”
In fact, the Christian lineage among our founding fathers is very weak with John Adams explicitly stating “the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion.” Also don’t bother wasting your time finding how many time the word “Jesus” appears in the founding documents. You won’t find it in any of the official founding documents. To matters even worse, State Rep. Brian Sims, the only openly atheist lawmaker in the PA House has not been allowed to give the invocation because of lack of faith.
Rep. Borowicz should apologize to the House and particularly to the state’s first Muslim legislator, State Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell, who was officially sworn in and had family members in the gallery during her Jesus rant. This was a very sad day for Pennsylvanians everywhere and needs to amended as soon as possible.
I’d be willing to bet that the timing of this garbage was deliberate to make sure that the Muslim rep who was being sworn in immediately after this rant got the message that she (and anybody else who is not a rabid x-tian) is not welcome.
Wow. Pretty wretched and bold claims by SamStone. This country WAS founded on the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And our country used to be blessed beyond measure when we actually followed those principles. I applaud Rep Borowicz for standing up boldly and not being afraid to speak the name of Jesus. Others can say whatever they want – why is it that only Christians are mocked for their faith? Oh that’s right – because Jesus said we would be hated for His Name’s sake! He was right! God bless Rep Borowicz!!! 💙
You are entitled to be as rabidly delusional as you want to be, but as the late Patrick Moynihan once said, you are not entitled to your own facts. And the facts refute all of your deluded claims. Go crawl back under your rock.
I won’t be crawling under any rocks. But even if I did, the rocks themselves would cry out, as God said in His Word. You can believe what you want, but everyone will see the truth in the end.
That was, without doubt, the most appalling display of rancid religion I have had the misfortune to witness…ever. You Madam are a disgrace to your faith, your nation, to humanity.
