Where: Pride Parade Start Point – Corner of Grant and Blvd. of the Allies (445-499 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15219)
Center for Inquiry – Pittsburgh (formerly PSF)
This Sunday is Pittsburgh Pridefest. It is recognized by many as the largest Pride event outside of NYC, with last year’s crowd being estimated by the City of Pittsburgh at 100,000 people. As we have in past years, CFI-Pgh is marching in the parade and tabling at the Pridefest street festival. The parade starts lining up along the Blvd of Allies at 10:00 am, and steps off at noon. The street festival officially runs from 1:00 to 6:00, but in reality, we usually start getting visitors from about 12:00 on.
We do not know the location of our booth until a couple of days beforehand, usually Thursday. As soon as I know, I will send out an email letting everyone know where it is.
For the parade, we won’t know our parade spot until we check in on Sunday morning, so maybe the best thing to do is to cruise the parade formation area and look for familiar faces.
If anybody would like to help staff the booth, please reply to this email and let me know when you would be available to man the booth.
