Persecution Row

Bill Maher last week had a great piece on the absurdity of politicians and pundits who opine that Christianity is under attack in America. He noted a number of political candidates and media hosts making absurd claims:

TedCruz BillO JebBush

At the same time the 114th Congress is 92% Christian, while the media is not much better.  MSNBC even has a reverend as an anchor.

The whole war on Christians in the United States is about absurd as it gets.  Which does not stop the some like Matthew Clark from jumping on the persecution bandwagon by citing a handful of cases outside the US.  While of concern, the isolated examples that Clark gives in his retort actually strengthen the argument that fighting over religion is hardly the road the peace.

As for the war on Christianity in the US, lets get real.  The American people are now about 30% non-religious (atheists, agnostics, nones, …), yet get little respect from either party.  That is the real problem.
