Where: David Lawrence Hall (3942 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260)
Christian apologist Stuart McAllister and Humanist Andy Norman (CMU) will be debate on topics faith and science. It promises to be a thought-provoking exchange of ideas. Andy Norman teaches philosophy at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University. He is a dynamic presenter who likes to challenge audiences to think hard about reason and faith, science and spirituality, and the foundations of ethics. Andy authors the popular “Brainstormin'” column for the Humanist Network News, and works at developing naturalistic alternatives to destructive religious mythologies. His work has appeared in Free Inquiry, Essays in the Philosophy of Humanism, and dozens of other journals. After the talk we will head over the The Porch (right around the corner) to join this month’s Drinking Skeptically and continue the discussion.
