Where: Kassab’s (1207 E. Carson St., Pittsburgh , PA 15203)
April 18th is Ask an Atheist Day! We’re going to celebrate this month Reason Rally style, by picking a public space and hanging out to answer questions. We’ll meet at Kassab’s on the South Side for lunch at 1 p.m. to prepare a bit. Then we’ll head out to the sidewalks around 2 p.m. We will decide where to stand while at lunch, but it will probably be closer to 18th street; call or text my cell if you need to find us (412-519-4956).
I will bring stickers that say “Atheist: Ask Away!”, a sign that describes what we’re up to, and some handouts we can give to people who want a take-away. The aim of this event (apart from having a great time) is to raise public awareness of secular values and reduce the stigma associated with the word “atheist.”
Please read this guide which can also found in the files section of this website under the “More” tab. It will help you prepare for the event (I will bring a copy to the meetup as well). We want everyone to be safe, and last years’s Ask an Atheist Day was a great success.
See you there!
P.S. If we need a rain date for this event, I will set it a week or so ahead of time, thanks!
